Womble Bond Dickinson was a new entry in the Haven House Law Firm Challenge this year, but attorneys and staff in the firm’s Raleigh and Research Triangle Park offices weren’t content with just showing up.

Instead, the firm took first place in the annual competition. And best of all, 100 percent of the money raised in the challenge will support Haven House. For 45 years, Haven House has worked provide much-needed services to at-risk youth and families in Wake County. The local non-profit operates the only homeless, runaway, and crisis intervention program for youth in the Triangle.

Attorney Jill Walters led the firm’s participation in the Haven House Law Firm Challenge. A final hour push put Womble Bond Dickinson over the top, beating out tough competition from Nexsen Pruet, Parker Poe and Poyner Spruill. Last year, the three firms (minus Womble Bond Dickinson) raised $4,620, while this year, all four firms stepped up their games and raised $19,290 for Haven House.

The final fundraising totals are as follows:

  • Womble Bond Dickinson: $7,865
  • Poyner Spruill: $7,230
  • Nexsen Pruet: $2,380
  • Parker Poe: $1,815.

Kudos to all participating firms! The kids and families served by Haven House are the real winners from our collective efforts.
