Integrity is a fundamental principle in everything we do, and this is articulated and incorporated into our approach to corporate social responsibility.

We take our corporate social responsibility as seriously as the quality of our legal advice, and we care about the impact of our actions.

Through partnerships with charities, community projects and our own initiatives, we are determined to play a strong role in creating better places to live, work and do business.

We are actively involved in our communities to help our neighbors and to share our legal and business skills to benefit others. Some of the charities we support include:

  • United Way
  • American Heart Association
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Community Law Center
  • Paul’s Place
  • National Conference for Community and Justice of the Piedmont Triad, Inc. (NCCJ)
  • Susan G. Komen
  • Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina
  • House of Ruth Maryland
  • YMCA
  • Smithsonian Institution
  • Touching Heart
  • Second Harvest Food Bank
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • LIFESPAN.
Pro Bono

Consistent with the firm’s long term commitment to community service, Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP has an active Pro Bono Program in each of our offices.

The firm encourages its attorneys to fulfill their pro bono commitment by providing legal services to persons of limited means or to organizations whose purpose is to assist persons of limited means. In addition to pro bono work, many of our lawyers continue to be involved in a multitude of community service projects.

At the core of our Pro Bono Program is the belief that law firms such as ours should be at the forefront of increasing access to legal services for the underprivileged. Not only does pro bono work provide a valuable public service, but it contributes to the personal and professional development of our attorneys. Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP’s Pro Bono Committee monitors the firm’s progress in reaching its pro bono goals and ensures proper supervision and administration of the pro bono program.

Community Service

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP lawyers have long been leaders and volunteers in the communities they serve.

Our attorneys have served in a variety of elected offices (from governor and state judicial offices to local elective posts) as well as on state and local boards and agencies. They have chaired United Way and Habitat for Humanity organizations and have served on or chaired the Board of Directors of local Chambers of Commerce.

Some of the organizations we serve include the YMCA, the American Heart Association, The Prince’s Trust, Habitat for Humanity and numerous food banks within our footprint.
