Zheng Li holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with an in-depth knowledge of wireless communications as well as a solid understanding of several major wireless standards such as LTE and IEEE 802.11.

Zheng previously worked as a patent agent for two boutique patent law firms in North Carolina, where he worked on patent preparation and prosecution involving a wide range of technologies including wireless communications, computer networks, cloud computing, virtualization, data security, image processing, 3D graphics, machine learning, storage systems, renewable energy, optical systems, semiconductor and integrated circuits.

Before starting his legal career, Zheng was a post-doctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa., where he was working on vehicle-to-vehicle communications for General Motors. He is the first inventor of several issued patents in General Motors' patent portfolio on vehicular communications.

Zheng earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware focusing on wireless communications. He had outstanding academic achievements during his doctoral study. His research works on multi-antenna and relay technologies are among the top downloaded articles in major IEEE journals including IEEE Transactions on Communications and IEEE Signal Processing Letters. His research works have been cited more than 500 times. He also served as a reviewer for major IEEE journals in communications area.
