Sean joined the firm as part of the firm's graduate recruitment programme in 2008 and is now a Wealth Advisor within the team. He specialises in providing advice to individuals, trusts and companies on a broad range of financial topics, including investments, pensions, tax planning and protection. Working closely with the legal and tax experts at Womble Bond Dickinson Wealth Limited, Sean is able to contribute to a multi-disciplinary approach that assists clients to maintain and grow the wealth of their family and to improve the prospects for their business.
Sean is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of The Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute. Many of Sean’s qualifications focus upon investment planning, including exams in securities trading and discretionary investment management. In addition to investment planning for individuals and trusts, Sean has a wealth of experience advising individuals in relation to retirement and estate planning.
Examples of experience include:
- Investment Planning – the most important part of the client relationship is determining an individual’s financial goals. Often, these goals can be achieved through careful investment planning. Sean can provide advice in relation to the initial establishment of an investment portfolio, and review the suitability of this portfolio on a regular basis going forward, to ensure that your financial goals are met
- Inheritance Tax Planning – many clients are surprised by the level of Inheritance Tax that their estates will suffer, once the value of all of their assets are collated, including their savings, investments and the value of the family home. Sean is experienced at advising clients to take sensible steps to reduce the value of their estates, whilst balancing the wish to save tax against the need to maintain their own financial security and to retain control of their wealth
- Retirement Planning – pension legislation is highly complex and tightly regulated. Whether clients are saving towards retirement, planning to retire shortly, or in receipt of pension income, Sean is experienced at providing advice to fund pensions wisely and release pension benefits in the most appropriate manner
- Family Protection – many people fail to give sufficient consideration to what position their family would be left in if they were to die or were too unwell to work. Sean is able to identify any shortfalls in your current provision and recommend suitable policies and associated trusts to ensure that your family’s wellbeing is protected.
