Marilyn is an experienced mass tort and product liability lawyer.

She has spent more than 30 years handling product liability matters throughout the United States, including in California, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York and West Virginia. She has been named to Best Lawyers in America annually from 2008 - 2017. In both 2015 and 2017, she was named Best Lawyers in America’s “Lawyer of the Year” for Product Liability Litigation, Defendants – Raleigh, NC. She has also served on the Firm’s Management Committee and its Executive Committee. Marilyn was honored to receive the firm’s Outstanding Service to Clients award.

Marilyn is also a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke University School of Law, where she teaches Pretrial Litigation, Ethics for Civil Litigators and Client Interviewing and Counseling. Prior to joining Womble Bond Dickinson, she served as a federal law clerk for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

    • Represents product manufacturers in personal injury and wrongful death litigation, with a particular emphasis on medical and scientific litigation issues in the courtroom.
    • Handled 2017 pro bono representation of a retired US Army soldier, succeeding in obtaining the return of his tactical explosive detection dog that served with him in Afghanistan.
