Jess is a newly qualified solicitor in our digital team. She joined the team in January 2024 having trained and qualified with another firm. 

She has worked on a broad range of IT and technology projects, from outsourcing and development projects to software licencing and support and maintenance. Given the natural data implications in this type of work, Jess also has experience in assessing data protection compliance issues.

Additionally, Jess has experience in more general commercial matters within various sectors including defence and enjoys getting involved in supporting our corporate team with transactions through exercises such as due diligence.

Experience

Examples of experience include:

  • Advising an EV client on its end-user licence agreements as well as wider data protection considerations
  • Advising a national insurance client with the drafting and complex negotiations on outsourced solutions contracts to ensure compliance with upcoming regulatory changes
  • Assisting with responding to a Data Subject Access Request in a prompt and timely manner
  • Supporting on a template contract review project for a client operating in the defence sector, paying attention to defence sector specific considerations, such as the application of DEFCONs
  • Assisting with drafting, updating and providing comment on both commercial and data privacy specific terms of service, supply of goods, confidentiality, non-disclosure and variation agreements.
