Experience

  • Inheritance Tax Planning – many clients are surprised by the level of inheritance tax that their estates will suffer, once the value of all of their assets are collated, including their savings, investments and the value of the family home. Jane is experienced at advising clients to take sensible steps to reduce the value of their estates, whilst balancing the wish to save tax against the need to maintain their own financial security and to retain control of their wealth
  • Retirement Planning – pension legislation is highly complex and tightly regulated. Whether clients are saving towards retirement, planning to retire shortly, or in receipt of pension income, Jane is experienced at providing advice to fund pensions wisely and release pension benefits in the most appropriate manner
  • Care Home Planning – moving into a care home in later life can be a large upheaval for the whole family. Structuring investments and pensions to allow good quality care to be funded, and restructuring the portfolio at the right time to provide additional income, can help to mitigate some of the worry for the client and their family. Jane has many clients who have been through this process and can provide guidance to both the client and any attorneys that they have appointed to look after their finances
  • School Fee Planning – many clients hope to assist their children with the costs of their education, such as school fees and university fees. A carefully structured investment portfolio that will provide capital growth in the early years and sufficient income in later years, in a tax efficient manner, can ensure that these expenses can be afforded and maintained. Jane is experienced in structuring portfolios to meet these objectives and ensuring that the portfolio remains fit for purpose over time.
