Womble Bond Dickinson is supporting this year's Bristol TechFin, an event to discuss the advancements in technology and finance and explore the opportunities for the future.

The one-day event will take place on 7 November at the Watershed in central Bristol and will bring together around 300 leaders from the international technology and financial innovation communities.

The event will cover a broad range of areas with more than 20 panellists taking to the stage to address the key aspects of TechFin from the use of technology in finance and the future of innovation in regulation through to how we can build a better finance system and the predictions for the future of financial technology.

Alastair Mitton, Partner at Womble Bond Dickinson, said: "The TechFin movement in Bristol and the South West is gathering momentum, with many large corporates and tech start-ups choosing to set up their operations in the City.

"Alongside London, Bristol is the UK’s leading smart city, with businesses here who are global tech leaders. This is why it is paramount to move the debate and dialogue out of London so we can showcase and discuss the great initiatives happening in this region."

Dr John Bradford, Lead Organiser and CEO at High Tech Bristol and Bath CIC, added: "High Tech Bristol and Bath is excited to welcome Womble Bond Dickinson as a Gold Sponsor for Bristol TechFin 2017. Their team bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge of the financial, regulatory, and technology systems that this event is exploring. Having a rich ecosystem of the professional services to exploit high tech innovations is key to a successful high tech cluster."

Womble Bond Dickinson's Fintech team operates from key locations throughout the UK and its expertise advising on Fintech related matters was praised in this year's Legal 500 rankings, the leading guide to law firms in the UK.
