Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has been shortlisted for the North East Marketing Awards (NEMA).

The awards recognise excellence within the fields of marketing, digital and PR from all industry sectors operating in the North East. 

WBD's Marketing and Communications team received a shortlist for Brand of the Year which involved putting together a brand and communications strategy following the successful alliance with the US law firm, Womble Carlyle. Extensive client research was undertaken, in both the UK and US, to develop an authentic brand strategy and to create a distinctive new corporate identity.

The brand had to take into account the disparate needs of both the US and UK markets. In a short space of time, printed marketing collateral, digital applications, exhibition panels, signage, merchandise and stationery had to be developed ready for the launch across all 26 UK and US offices. 

NEMA also recognised the firm's Marketing and Communications team for the launch of its Close Encounters: The Power of Collaborative Innovation report, which resulted in the firm receiving a shortlist for Integrated Campaign of the Year. The report consists of unique research that highlights the collaborative deals between large corporates and UK SMEs, this is the first quantitative research ever carried out on this specific trend.  

The winners will be announced on 18 October 2018 at the Biscuit Factory in Newcastle.
