Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has partnered with claims and risk management solutions provider Virtualfiles to support the firm's claims handling offering. WBD Claims, established as WBD's specialist claims handling operation to support insurance and corporate clients, provides a commercially focused, resolution-based service at highly competitive rates.

WBD chose Virtualfiles to provide the claims management IT platform due to its unparalleled track record in this arena – having built and provided insurance claims management systems, both globally and in the London market, for over a decade. The Virtualfiles system provides the ideal solution for WBD Claims to meet clients' needs, with specialised SLA driven workflows, excellent MI capabilities and huge AI potential.

Sitting alongside the firm's WBD Advance and WBD Accelerate offerings, WBD Claims was created as a separate team for financial lines claims. It is led from the firm's London office by David Clark, who joined WBD from Clyde & Co in 2019, and supported by expert and experienced staff from the firm's Southampton, Bristol and Plymouth offices.

The WBD Claims team operates as an independent unit within the main LLP, but benefits from the breadth and support of a top 20 law firm which has been successfully claims handling for insurance and corporate clients for a number of years.

David Clark, Head Of Claims Handling Services at WBD, commented:

"Whilst we have been successfully handling claims for clients for many years, WBD Claims boasts a separate specialist team supported by market leading claims technology. We're delighted to have partnered with Virtualfiles on this ambitious project. They have helped us create an innovative and fully dynamic platform which will enhance our offering."

Nathan Lownds, CEO of Virtualfiles comments:

"We're extremely proud to be partnering with WBD, it's testament to the quality of Virtualfiles that another leading law firm has chosen to manage its claims via our platform. We look forward to a long and successful partnership."
