Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) will have a transatlantic presence at the 2018 Maryland State of the Ports event, as Partners Chris Towner and Joe Tirone will both be taking part in a panel discussion on offshore wind energy.

Offshore wind energy in Maryland will have a huge impact on the port, reduce carbon emissions, and create economic growth across the region. The session will provide insights into the industry including the lifecycle of developing an offshore wind farm, international perspectives and local environmental and economic impacts of an offshore wind farm.

Towner will join panelists Kerry Doyle, Chief Commercial Officer at Tradepoint Atlantic; Josh Cohen, Director of Communications and Outreach/Maryland State Director for the Business Network for Offshore Wind; and Joy Weber, Development Manager for Deepwater Wind, in the discussion. Joe Tirone will moderate the panel discussion.

The Maryland State of the Ports event also will feature a breakout session on “Port Automation & Cyber Security.” The event, which is co-hosted by the Maryland Department of Transportation and Ports America Chesapeake, takes place Sept. 26 in Baltimore.

WBD is a Breakout Sponsor of the 2018 Maryland State of the Ports event.
