Bond Dickinson, which has a large office in Southampton, was the Overall Winner of the 2017 Legal Cup Sailing Regatta last weekend (20 - 21 May).
The Legal Cup Sailing Regatta is an annual two-day sailing event which takes place in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, and brings together law firms from across the UK alongside their clients. More than 11 different law firms took part in the challenge, competing against each other in five intense inshore races.
Last year, Bond Dickinson had won its class but had just missed out on the overall trophy. Last weekend and for the second year running Bond Dickinson won its class but went one step further to win the Legal Cup trophy. Six Bond Dickinson staff alongside key clients took part in a series of five races, battling through changeable weather, strong winds and spells of hail. The firm achieved two second places and two first places before winning in the final race on Sunday and taking the title of Overall Winner of the Legal Cup alongside the coveted Legal Cup trophy.
Amy Prime, Solicitor, said: "This is only the second year that we've entered the race and we've fought hard to defend our title. Many of the team had never sailed before so this has been a brilliant testament of teamwork and a perfect opportunity for team and client bonding."
