Equality, Diversity & Inclusion can be daunting for charities seeking to keep pace with funder, beneficiary and Charity Commission expectations.
Join us for our Understanding EDI session on Monday 28 June to hear from:
- Elizabeth Prochaska, barrister and former legal director of the EHRC, will explain the principles of the Equality Act 2010, including the protected characteristics and types of discrimination, the current EDI landscape in the wake of the BLM movement and set out actions charities can take to improve recruitment and decision-making
- Jo Coleman, partner at WBD specialising in all aspects of charity law, will take us through the sixth principle of the Charity Governance Code which deals with EDI, in conversation with Elizabeth
- Diana Tickell, Chief Executive of NABS (the advertising industry's benevolent society), will then discuss their EDI journey over the last 18 months, sharing with participants the NABS EDI strategy and how they decided to embed inclusive practices in the charity's structure for their staff and beneficiaries.
Following the presentations, our speakers are happy to answer your questions.
We hope you can join us.
