With many organisations around the south west setting their targets for net zero we will be exploring what the term ‘net zero’ means, what it means for those working in the property and estates sector and hear about some different approaches to achieving this goal.

From the public sector side we will have a closer look at Bristol City Council’s decarbonisation strategy, setting out a roadmap for achieving net zero and analysing the different routes to this target. What the funding opportunities are for public sector organisations, and how to prepare for bidding for these and giving yourself the best chance of being successful.

On the commercial real estate side we will have a look at how a global property organisation is taking their approach to zero carbon through a commercial real estate leasing strategy and have a look at some of the key elements of ‘green leases’ which are set to become the norm in the property leasing market.

Join us to hear:

  • What is net zero carbon, and how do we get there? - John Bailey, Associate Director, Sustainability, Turner & Townsend
  • Seismic changes in Waste, Resources & Legislation - what is coming and what will it mean?- Sarah Holmes, Legal Director and Chartered Waste Manager (MCIWM), Womble Bond Dickinson
