MAC call for evidence

Have your say: salary threshold and points-based system commission

The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) has issued a call for evidence to investigate the range at which salary thresholds should be set for sponsored migrants. This is in the context of the future post-Brexit immigration system, due to be launched in 2021.

In addition to the salary thresholds, MAC has also been asked to look into an ‘Australian-style’ points-based system and how this might work in the UK.

To help cement the future of the UK's immigration system, MAC is currently seeking evidence from stakeholders in relation to both pieces of work. The call for evidence will accept information from a range of sources, including individual businesses, employers, recruiters and representative bodies. Responses should be evidence based and use data and examples where appropriate, to ensure a wide range of high quality evidence is gathered.

The deadline for responses is 31 October 2019.

A full explanation of the scope of the call for evidence and guidance can be found on the GOV.UK website.
